Why we built it
Pro.Miami organizes contractor discovery around Miami-Dade trades and neighborhoods. Before hiring, ask how the proposal accounts for your property's condition, coastal exposure, permit responsibilities, and any association approval. Verify requirements with the relevant building department or association rather than assuming every property follows the same process.
Compare written scope, materials, exclusions, timing, and payment terms, not just the headline price. Pro.Miami lets you describe a job for interested local contractors to review. Responses and savings are not guaranteed, and the directory does not replace your own license, insurance, reference, and contract checks.
What we do
- Run a directory of Miami-Dade contractors organized by trade and neighborhood.
- Show homeowner job requests to Miami-Dade contractors who cover that trade and neighborhood, and let them respond with a priced quote. The number who may open a homeowner's direct contact details for any one request is capped.
- Host every contractor at their own subdomain microsite (yourname.pro.miami) with services, hours, neighborhoods, photos.
- Publish trade-specific guides for Miami-Dade conditions: HVHZ, salt-air, hurricane prep, condo rules, county permits.
What we do not do
- Vet, license, or insure contractors. Pro.Miami is a directory, not a vetting service. Anyone in the trades can list. You verify the Florida license at Pro.Miami's license verifier and ask for the certificate of insurance before hiring. Our verification guide.
- Take a percentage of the job. Pro.Miami is free for contractors, so there is no cut to take. We never invoice the homeowner either.
- Charge per lead. Some platforms charge contractors per click or per lead, and those costs end up in the price you receive. We charge nothing, so the quote you get is the real price.
- Sit between homeowners and contractors. Once you have the contact info, you deal with the contractor directly. Pro.Miami is not a party to your contract.
- Sell or recycle leads to other platforms. Your request is shown to Miami-Dade contractors covering your trade and neighborhood so they can quote it, not sold into a national auction.
Coverage
Miami-Dade County only, today. 30 neighborhoods, every ZIP. Broward and Palm Beach are on the roadmap. We will not expand into a new county until we have enough local contractors to make it worth it for homeowners.
Money model
Pro.Miami is free. Homeowners pay nothing, and contractors pay nothing to list, see requests, send quotes, or message homeowners. We take no commission on the work and no per-lead fee. If we introduce paid options later, existing free features stay free and we will say so here first.
